Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispensing Optician to join our professional optical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting suitable eyewear, accurately dispensing spectacles, and providing exceptional customer service. A background in laboratory work and anatomy knowledge will be highly advantageous in this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in choosing appropriate frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences.
- Dispense spectacles accurately, ensuring proper fit and comfort for each client.
- Conduct preliminary eye examinations and verify prescriptions provided by optometrists.
- Maintain and update patient records with precision and confidentiality.
- Prepare lenses and assemble spectacles using laboratory equipment, adhering to quality standards.
- Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and aftercare to optimise customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all optical equipment is maintained, calibrated, and used safely.
- Support the optical team with stock management, ordering supplies as needed.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing queries professionally and courteously.
Skills
- Proven laboratory experience in optical lens fitting and spectacle assembly.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate dispensing.
- Good communication skills to explain technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a busy optical practice.
- Customer-focused approach with a friendly and professional demeanour.

Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
