Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities, and implementing care plans tailored to each child's needs. Responsibilities
- Support children with their daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans in collaboration with the wider team
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes emotional and behavioural development
- Engage children in educational and social activities to encourage growth and independence
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and relevant observations in accordance with organisational policies
- Support children with transportation needs, including driving them to appointments or activities as required
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support
- Uphold safeguarding standards at all times, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every child in your care
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of child development and behaviour management strategies
- Experience in creating or following care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, families, and team members
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children safely and efficiently
