Are you looking for a new challenge? The paediatric speech and language therapy team at Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed Speech and Language Therapist. You will join a friendly and highly committed team of therapists and therapy assistants delivering support to children and young people across rural Herefordshire.
We are looking to recruit a Band 6, full time, permanent position (part-time applications will be considered). This is a mixed post that includes a wide and varied caseload within community clinics, mainstream nurseries/schools and input into a more specialist, complex communication needs caseload. Experience in supporting children/young people with specific language difficulties and more complex presentations would be a significant advantage. Provide assessment and therapy for pre-school and school age children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties.
Write concise notes, reports and programmes for children in order for family and education staff to support ongoing needs.
Provide support and deliver best practice intervention to children and young people with Autism & Complex Communication needs.
To support the SALT team in their transformation journey, this may include delivering training to other professionals and parents.
Support initiatives within the SALT service to maintain timely waiting lists and waits for therapy intervention.
Engage in and be pro-active in CPD activities in order to continually provide evidence based practice and intervention.
