Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. Applicants should possess a valid HGV Class 2 licence and relevant driving experience, particularly with flatbed loads. The position is paid and involves working within a dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Safely secure and transport flatbed loads, ensuring cargo integrity during transit
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, adhering to health and safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for cargo securement
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to operate large vehicles confidently
- Good organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and adhere to schedules
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
- Prior experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
