Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will deliver personalized assistance with daily activities, monitor residents’ health and well-being, and foster a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence. Your expertise will help ensure our residents receive the highest quality of care while maintaining their comfort, safety, and happiness.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment Hoists and stand aids
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, observe for changes in health status, and document findings accurately in compliance with moving and handling regulations.
- Administer medications and manage care plans under the supervision of management
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering social engagement and mental stimulation.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care strategies for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities.
- Support palliative care needs with sensitivity and professionalism while respecting residents’ wishes and comfort levels.
- Conduct patient observation to identify early signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes; escalate concerns promptly.
- Assist with documentation related to care plans, medication administration records, and incident reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in senior care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, or home & community care environments.
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration,
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care training are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents’ families, and other caregivers.
