Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Hair Stylist to join our vibrant salon team on a self employed basis. The ideal candidate will be a minimum of level 2 qualified and possess a passion for hairdressing, exceptional customer service skills, and a flair for creating stylish, personalised looks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise in various hair treatments and styling techniques while providing an outstanding experience for clients. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality services, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the overall success of the salon.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional hair styling services including cutting, colouring, styling, and specialised treatments tailored to client preferences
- Maintain excellent customer service standards by understanding client needs and offering personalised advice
- Manage front desk duties including appointment scheduling, client consultations, and payment processing
- Support store management tasks such as stock organisation, cleanliness, and maintaining a welcoming environment
- Mentor junior team members by sharing expertise in hairdressing techniques and customer care
- Stay updated with current trends and continuing professional development to ensure innovative service offerings
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Hair Stylist with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating versatility in styling techniques
- Established local client base
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage appointments efficiently
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also independently managing client consultations
- Flexibility to work during salon opening hours; weekend availability is essential
