Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
- Maintain high standards of hygiene by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and restocking supplies as needed
- Ensure all floors are swept, mopped, or vacuumed to promote safety and cleanliness
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a sanitary environment
- Assist with setting up or clearing away furniture or equipment for school activities when required
- Keep accurate records of cleaning schedules and tasks completed to ensure accountability
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work, preferably within an educational or similar environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality of work
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners safely and effectively
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures and chemical handling
- Excellent time management skills to complete daily tasks efficiently within scheduled hours
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
