Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team, providing compassionate care and support within a care home environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents, particularly those requiring senior care. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised care plans. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support the implementation and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with senior staff
- Administer medications as per prescriber direction
- Monitor residents’ health and report any changes or concerns promptly
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or volunteers, promoting a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
- Assist with organising activities and social engagement programmes for residents
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or senior care setting is preferred
- Supervising or leadership experience within healthcare environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of care planning processes and documentation standards
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with residents and team members
- Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Driving experience is desirable to support transportation duties when required
