Supervisors are expected to show dedication and commitment to the company including the company handbook – ensuring rules and regulations are adhered to at all times. Carrying out tasked projects to the expected high standards of our clients but also SJM Management team. We look to supervisors to be ambassadors to the company and ensure fellow team members act in correct manner when on site, along with motivating fellow team members. You will be in charge of smooth day to day running of small to large projects. Dedication to the company is essential with an excellent can do attitude and willingness to be flexible to regularly changing and busy environment.
Daily tasks include but not limited to:
- Organising and liaising with Project Manager on a per job basis
- Liaising with Site Managers as required
- Liaising with SJM office team for any specific requests - helping a smooth day to day work schedule where possible
- Promoting and ensuring quality control is met at all times
- Reporting problems or dangerous occurrences(near misses) to Office & Project Manager to ensure staff can be regularly assessed in line with company H&S Policy – promoting a safe working environment
- Completing checklist of materials on a per job basis, including labour allocation
- Ensuring all delivery notes are collected and brought into office for accounts team
- Measuring up and liaising with project manager for material orders/deliveries
- Presentation and recording of regular tool box talks with staff members liaising with office team to ensure completed paperwork is returned
- Completion of daily safe start checks on machinery(all Supervisors or team leaders)
- Completion of faulty machinery paperwork including taking a machine out of service and tagging up ready for machinery to be sent away for repairs
- Confidence in discussing RAMS before commencing new jobs and ensuring team members fully understand – Sign off required
- Ability to adapt RAMS should site conditions alter due to unforeseen reasons
- A positive attitude at all times – to ensure good moral amongst team members
Preferred qualifications/attributes
- Good knowledge of using both large and small machinery is essential, as are good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand landscape plans
- Ability to execute landscape plans in a very timely and orderly fashion
- Strong horticultural knowledge
- Strong plant identification and care knowledge
- CSCS qualification
- First Aid Qualification
- SSSTS or similar qualification
Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
