RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager and/or Chef Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To prepare and cook a balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled environment.
To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and General Cleaning Duties.
SUMMARY OF MAIN DUTIES:
1. To ensure the correct and proper use of equipment.
2. To ensure the correct and economical use of materials and equipment
3. To ensure the observance of Safety Regulations and Procedures.
4. To prepare, cook and serve food, which is appetizing and nutritious and meets the dietary needs of the people residing within the environment.
5. To supervise the work of kitchen employees.
6. To train other kitchen employees as required in conjunction with the Manager and/ or Chef Manager.
7. To report mechanical defects and repairs.
8. To receive goods when required.
9. Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness paying particular attention to current legislation.
10. To ensure the safety of kitchen employees.
11. To comply with company rules relating to stock control and rotation.
12. To be responsible for the washing of own catering utensils.
13. To be actively involved in the cleaning programme.
14. To be aware of and fully comply with legislation as it relates to the post.
15. To participate in training events.
16. To participate in Team Meetings.
17. To participate in Personal Reviews.
18. Complete documentation as required.
19. Cover must be required when necessary for annual leave or sickness
20. Any other duties falling within the purview of the post.
Must have cooking experience and Level 3 in Food Hygiene.
The hours are 2 days per week Thursday and Friday every other week and every other weekend. Thursday 9 - 5.30pm, Friday 9-5.30pm, Saturday 9 - 5.30pm and Sunday 7am to 2pm
Full DBS will be required. Will be paid for by the applicant.
