We are looking for a reliable and skilled Property Maintenance Operative to support the maintenance and upkeep of residential rental properties across Southampton.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general property maintenance and handyman tasks
- Minor repairs including plumbing, painting, carpentry, and basic electrical work where appropriate
- Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, and appliances
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues reported by tenants
- Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance requirements
- Replace light fixtures, door handles, locks, and other basic fittings
- Ensure properties are maintained to a high standard and ready for tenant occupancy
- Report major issues requiring specialist contractors
Requirements
- Previous experience in property maintenance, handyman work, or similar
- Ability to carry out a wide range of basic repair and maintenance tasks
- Own tools preferred (not essential)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Right to work in the UK
- Must be based in or near Southampton and able to travel to different property locations
