Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. You will taking a trunk run from Severn Beach Bristol to Coventry and back.
Shift pattern - 17th to 21st 18:00 start - 23rd to 28th start 13:30 - 31st to 2nd start 13:30
Responsibilities
- Safely operating an HGV 1 truck for scheduled deliveries and collections, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Plan efficient routes to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel consumption and vehicle utilization
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on routes
- Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures, and legal requirements related to commercial driving
Requirements
- Valid HGV 1 (Class 1) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed trailers and delivery operations
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as securing loads on flatbeds and performing vehicle inspections
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good communication skills for liaising with dispatchers, clients, and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
