Role: Marketing Executive
We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Executive to join our small, creative team in Brighton. This role is a build, not a handover — you’ll be coming in to help us set up the foundations: a proper customer journey, post-purchase email flows, and a consistent presence across social and content channels. You’ll work collaboratively with the founders, with real input into how we do things, across three established e-commerce craft brands.
Our three brands:
- BCreativetolearn — educational craft supplies for schools and makers
- Carnival Papers — specialist tissue and wet strength papers for artists and printers
- Recycled Paper Company — sustainable paper products for eco-conscious buyers
What You’ll Do:.
Email Marketing & Customer Journey
- This is a build, not a handover — you’ll be setting up the customer journey from scratch across Klaviyo and Shopify
- Map and build post-purchase flows for each brand: confirmation, onboarding, repeat purchase prompts, and review requests
- Set up welcome sequences that introduce new customers to the brand and drive a second purchase
- Connect Shopify customer data to Klaviyo: segments, purchase behaviour, and lifecycle triggers
- Design the full customer journey — from first purchase through to loyal repeat buyer — and implement it in flows
- Write all email copy: subject lines, body content, and CTAs in each brand’s voice
- Once flows are live, plan and send regular campaign emails (seasonal, promotional, editorial)
- Report on open rates, click rates, revenue per recipient, and flow performance
Blog & Content Writing
- Write SEO-informed blog posts for each brand (approx. 2–3 per month combined)
- Research relevant keywords and structure content to support organic search
- Repurpose blog content into social captions, email snippets, and product copy where relevant
Social Media
- Manage Instagram (primary channel), TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube presence
- Write captions, schedule posts, and maintain a simple content calendar
- Brief and coordinate with our in-house videographer for video content
- Community management: respond to comments and DMs in a timely, on-brand way
- Monitor performance and iterate based on what’s working
Strategy & Planning
- Work with the founders to develop seasonal campaign plans (key craft peaks: Christmas, Easter, back-to-school)
- Maintain a shared content calendar across brands and channels
- Working with a videographer to schedule work and images required.
- Produce a simple monthly report covering email, social, and traffic metrics
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills
- Email marketing & automation — Klaviyo (flows, segmentation, lifecycle campaigns) is essential
- Shopify — comfortable navigating customer data, integrations, and connecting to Klaviyo
- Customer journey mapping — able to design and build a post-purchase sequence from scratch
- Content writing — clear, engaging copy for blogs, emails, and social
- Social media management — scheduling, publishing, and community engagement
- SEO knowledge — keyword research, on-page basics, writing for search intent
- Analytics — comfortable reading data and drawing actionable conclusions
- Campaign design — able to produce clean, on-brand visuals (Canva or equivalent)
Background & Experience
- 2–4 years in a marketing role, ideally within e-commerce or product brands
- Experience managing multiple brands or accounts simultaneously is a plus
- Craft, maker, or creative industry background is desirable but not essential
The Right Fit
- Collaborative by nature — you’re comfortable working closely with founders and feeding ideas up, not just waiting for briefs
- Self-organised — you can manage a multi-brand content calendar without being micromanaged
- Curious and commercial — you care about whether marketing is actually working
- Comfortable in a small team where roles overlap and priorities shift seasonally
What We Offer
- In-person role based in Brighton
- Direct access to founders and genuine input into brand strategy
- A creative, product-led environment with real variety across three distinct brands
