Role and Responsibilities
Quality Technician
- The objective of this part of the role is to ensure a quality focus within the organisation and compliance with any and all applicable standards, both regulatory and internal.
- Managing the administrative maintenance and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and business-related UK/EU legislative requirements.
- Lead internal and external audit activities, acting as the primary liaison with certification bodies and regulators.
- Manage and administrate the periodic tasks required to comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 across the business and ensure these are actioned, completed in full and to the required time period and documented and updated within the business IMS.
- Manage quality performance, NCRs, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions to drive compliance and continuous improvement using Fishbone / Ishikawa Diagrams, 5 Whys Analysis, Kaizen and Plan Do Check Act techniques.
- Compile, analyse, and report quality, compliance, and performance data to support senior leadership in the annual Management Review in line with ISO 9001/ ISO 14001 requirements inclusive of Key Business Objective decision making and drafting.
- Managing the full lifecycle of business-critical raw materials, from design and development through to supplier onboarding and compliance testing, acting as primary liaison with external test laboratories.
- Managing internal laboratory operations and equipment calibration in accordance with equipment requirements and business IMS, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 Standards
- Material testing using internal laboratory equipment to undertake due diligence material conformality tests for compliance against BSAU145e and further worldwide legislative standards.
- New product, supplier, and materials evaluations.
- Oversee inbound quality control, material conformity testing, and NCR management to protect supply chain integrity and minimise disruption.
- Managing the retained material development samples including record keeping and control samples.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance to British Standards including BS AU 145e and any other relevant standards.
- Management, administration, and creation of test reports for all materials assessed internally and externally and the controlled retention and storage of such records.
- Manage, control and report on all nonconformance for the business, inclusive of INCR, Customer nonconformance, supplier nonconformance and all findings from internal and external audits to the Senior Leadership team and chair the nonconformance meeting.
- Function as the chair and administrator of the business prototype system and meeting, as well as attendance, engagement and action taking in the business change control meetings.
Purchasing and Stock Controller
- Function as the first point of contact for end-to-end multinational supply chain operations, integrating procurement, inventory, quality, logistics, and compliance to ensure cost-effective and uninterrupted supply.
- Manage supplier sourcing, partnerships, performance, audits, and negotiations, driving continuous improvement, risk reduction, and sustainable supplier relationships.
- Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS) collaborating with suppliers to establish material lead time and required business stock holding levels.
- Control and maintain inventory, Material Resource Planning, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, forecasting, and stock optimisation within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Control and maintain all SKUs within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central inclusive of new SKU creation.
- Control and maintain production Work Centre and Routings inclusive of labour costs and run times for all items produced internally within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Enter purchase details (vendors information and pricing etc.) into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and maintain accuracy of such data.
- Raise purchase orders to replenish all materials as required.
- Ensure full trade and customs compliance, including HS classification, valuation, Incoterms application, and preparation of import/export documentation.
- Track shipments and address any delays.
- Oversee storage of products, over both facilities ensuring all deliveries are booked in with the warehouse team to agreed service level agreements.
- Manage, report, and administrate all suppliers’ nonconformance and ensure corrective action plans are implemented.
- Conduct annual supplier performance reviews and ensure these are documented, issued to the supplier, and where required work with the supplier to discuss opportunities for improvement.
- Input regular inventory audits into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and ensure data is accurate.
- Create production orders for SKU’s manufactured internally to ensure inventory is sufficient and the business is not OOS.
Qualifications and Education Requirements2 A Level or equivalent Essential competencies
- 5 Years’ experience in an operations role.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Competence in ERP systems.
- Competent in Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Experience of exposure to company audits.
Desirable competencies
- Microsoft BC SaaS Knowledge
- ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Audit Experience
Additional Notes
- Detailed knowledge of BS AU 145e.
- Detailed knowledge of products and components used in number plate construction.
- An ability to work diligently and accurately to all Safe Systems of Work and quality procedures.
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Management and maintenance of the 9001 ISO quality management system to standard.
- Senior Management Meeting representation in regard to ISO standard.
- Advise Directors and managers on all ISO and changes to legislation matters to ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations.
- 3 Monthly internal ISO audits.
- Monthly KPI for NCR.
- Monthly KPI for INCR
- Weekly NCR meeting.
- Reporting of near misses
- Mentoring and coaching of staff with regards to Microsoft BC SaaS.
- Audit representation for areas of responsibility.
- Achievement and development of KPi’s in areas of responsibility.
- Continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
- Represent areas of responsibility in 4 Hourly, Weekly IOC meetings.
- Focus on continuous improvement.
Pay: £34,000.00 per year
