Philip Whear Windows and Conservatories is a leading Cornish company with over 40 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and fitting high-quality uPVC, aluminium and hardwood products.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Window, Door & Conservatory Fitter to join ourinstallation team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately fitting and installing a wide range of windows, doors, conservatories, and related fixtures. Your expertise will ensure that each project is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential remodels to commercial installations, contributing directly to enhancing our clients’ spaces with precision craftsmanship. Work is on a self-employed basis.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Install windows, doors and conserva toriesusing appropriate sealing techniques
- Fit and hang doors, ensuring proper alignment and operation
- Use schematics and technical instructions to assemble or modify fixtures in accordance with project specifications
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards while maintaining a clean work environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in window, door, or conservatory installation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, used in carpentry and glass installation
- Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting schematics, and technical drawings for accurate project execution
- Skilled in sealing and trimming
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site during projects
- Attention to detail and care whilst working in customers' homes.
- Own power tools
- NVQ Level 2 in Fenestration Installation preferable.
- Valid driving license
