Your New Opportunity: As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the day-to-day planning and coordination of the Woodside Haulage fleet, ensuring transport operations are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer requirements.
Working closely with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for planning vehicle, trailer and driver resources, coordinating deliveries and collections across the UK and Ireland, and responding to changing operational demands to maintain high levels of customer service.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced logistics environment. You will ensure transport activities are planned in compliance with relevant road transport legislation while supporting the efficient and cost-effective operation of the fleet.
What this Role Involves:

Plan and coordinate vehicle, trailer and driver resources to ensure the safe, efficient and timely delivery of customer freight.

Monitor daily transport operations, responding proactively to operational issues, delays and changing customer requirements.

Maintain accurate transport planning information, consignments and operational records within the Transport Management System (TMS).

Build and maintain effective working relationships with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication.

Liaise with ferry operators and other service providers to coordinate transport movements and support operational requirements.

Work collaboratively with Fleet Maintenance and Driver Training teams to ensure vehicles, equipment and drivers remain operationally compliant and available.

Ensure all transport activities are planned in compliance with Road Traffic legislation, Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Regulations and company procedures.

Deliver a high standard of customer service by ensuring deliveries and collections are planned and executed effectively.

Identify and escalate operational issues where appropriate, supporting the continuous improvement of transport planning processes.

Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the level and responsibilities of the role.
What You'll Need:
Essential Criteria:

Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics or operational coordination role.

Good knowledge of UK and Ireland transport operations.

Working knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Regulations and road transport legislation.

Experience planning and coordinating vehicle and driver resources within a fast-paced operational environment.

Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience within a general haulage or logistics environment.

Knowledge of UK-Ireland ferry operations and ferry booking processes.

Experience using fleet telematics or transport planning software.
