FPC (NW) Ltd is looking for a highly organised Senior Contracts Manager who will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and commercially controlled contract delivery from pre-start mobilisation through to completion, handover, final account and lessons learned. The successful candidate will balance site leadership, technical fire door knowledge, FIRAS compliance, client management and strong financial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple live fire door, remediation, maintenance and specialist joinery contracts from award to handover and final account.
- Oversee site operations, labour planning, supervisors, direct labour, subcontractors, productivity, quality and programme performance.
- Control contract budgets, labour costs, materials, subcontractor spend, procurement, variations, applications, invoices and margin performance.
- Maintain strong FIRAS, fire door compliance, quality assurance, photographic evidence, certification and handover records.
- Manage client relationships, progress updates, commercial meetings, framework expectations, site constraints and issue resolution.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained through RAMS, audits, toolbox talks, inspections and corrective actions.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years' experience managing construction, passive fire protection, fire door, remediation or specialist joinery contracts.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire door installation, remediation, maintenance, joinery-led works and compliant product selection.
- Proven ability to manage supervisors, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, direct labour and multiple live projects.
- Commercially disciplined, with experience in cost forecasting, applications, variations, invoice review, wage costs and margin protection.
- Confident reviewing drawings, specifications, surveys, programmes, schedules of rates and project evidence.
- Professional communicator who can represent the business with clients, contractors, consultants and senior stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Office / Excel tracker skills essential.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
- Must hold a CSCS Manager Card or equivalent.
- Must hold SMSTS.
- FIRAS supervisor experience desirable.
- FDIS or equivalent desirable.
- IOSH Managing Safely desirable.
- Asbestos Awareness / First Aid desirable.
