We are seeking a proactive, organised, and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team and play a vital role in enhancing resident wellbeing within our care home.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and oversight skills, creativity in activity planning, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of others.
This role will be 20 hours a week, working 5 out of 7 days. This is not always a Monday to Friday role.
About the Role
- Designing and delivering engaging, person-centred activity programmes that promote residents’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
Your role ensures residents live meaningful, fulfilling lives while the home consistently meets all regulatory and organisational standards.
Duties
- Planning, organising, and delivering a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
- Encouraging social interaction and community engagement
- Supporting residents with wellbeing, appointments, or liaison with family
- Monitoring changes in residents’ wellbeing and escalating appropriately
- Promoting person-centred engagement based on individual care plans
- Organising themed events, celebrations, and external entertainers
- Maintaining activity records and evaluating engagement levels
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Creative and enthusiastic approach to activity planning
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Understanding of safeguarding, MCA, and CQC requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Digital literacy (PASS/Care Planner systems, PCS, email, spreadsheets)
- Ability to follow policies and protocols accurately
- Results-driven with the ability to meet KPI targets
