Job Description
As a Health & Safety Officer, your role will be to oversee all property compliance related activities throughout the portfolio including conducting Fire Risk Assessment and Health & Safety Assessments throughout the Northwest.
As a Health & Safety Officer, we are looking for someone to:
Ø Conduct both Health & Safety and Fire Risk Assessments on a variety of residential and commercial properties throughout our portfolio.
Ø Ensure that all Property Compliance Audit actions are fully closed off and documented. Coordinate, monitor and ensure completion of remedial works to meet statutory requirements.
Ø Oversee and audit mandatory compliance programs (i.e. Gas Certs, EICRs etc).
Ø Support our Property Onboarding process to ensure that acquisitions are compliant from day 1.
Ø Maintain our Building Safety Cases/Reports for each high-risk block including management of our Mandatory Occurrence Reporting & Resident Engagement policies.
Ø Deliver day-to-day functions on behalf of the Accountable Person for buildings in scope of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Ø Develop, review and deliver fire safety strategies and maintain Fire Management Plans.
Ø Audit and approve Fire Risk Assessments and coordinate PCFRAs and residential PEEPs (rPEEPs).
Ø Oversee Contractor Onboarding & Compliance (i.e. PLI, RAMS etc).
Ø Oversee Development Site Compliance.
Ø Oversee head office H&S / Training Program.
Ø Support on Major Compliance Projects as new legislation comes in.
Ø Develop & Implement an internal audit schedule to ensure compliance.
Ø Any other duties as assigned by your line manager.
Qualifications
Ø Recognised Level 4 (minimum) qualification in Fire Risk Assessment.
Ø Recognised Level 4 (minimum) qualification in Health & Safety.
Essential
Ø Full clean UK driving licence.
Ø Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting Fire Risk & H&S Assessments across multiple building types.
Desirable
Ø Strong, extensive and proven experience within a similar Building Safety or Fire Safety role.
Ø Membership of a recognised fire safety professional body.
Ø Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and best practices.
Ø Professional, organised, and client-focused approach.
Ø Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel & strong IT Skills.
Ø Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Ø Strong analytical, written & communication skills.
Ø Excellent teamwork skills.
