Experienced Housekeeper / Accomplished Cook

We are looking for an experienced housekeeper who is also a genuinely accomplished and enthusiastic cook to join a private household.
Cooking is an important part of the role. We are looking for someone confident preparing high-quality, fresh, modern international cuisine rather than formal or overly elaborate Cordon Bleu-style food. You should have a broad repertoire and be comfortable with Mediterranean, Asian, Middle Eastern and modern British dishes, as well as good-quality everyday home cooking and entertaining.
The right person will be able to plan varied weekly menus, shop intelligently for excellent fresh ingredients and prepare attractive, healthy meals, including catering confidently for gluten-free and vegetarian diets when required.
Alongside cooking, the role includes high-standard housekeeping and the day-to-day organisation of the home. We are looking for someone who is experienced, organised, discreet, flexible and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take responsibility rather than needing constant direction.
The role is principally based in Cornwall but will also involve occasional travel to a second home in Kent. The successful candidate should therefore be happy to travel and stay away from home when required, helping to ensure the same high standard of housekeeping and household organisation is maintained across both properties. Travel arrangements and reasonable expenses will, of course, be covered.
There is also a much-loved dog who is part of the household, so it is important that the successful candidate is genuinely comfortable with dogs and happy to help with their day-to-day care. This will include feeding, walks and generally keeping an eye on their wellbeing, particularly when the owners are busy or away.
This would suit someone who takes real pride in creating a beautifully run home and particularly enjoys cooking for people who appreciate good food.
Previous private-household experience and excellent references essential.
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
