Stoke Newington Music School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Piano Tutor to join our team of dedicated educators. Committed to providing high-quality music education, we are looking for an individual who shares our passion for inspiring students and fostering their musical growth.
Hours Required:
Mondays: 3:45pm - 6:15pm
Tuesdays: 3:45pm - 6:30pm
Wednesdays: 4pm - 6:45pm
Fridays: 4pm - 6pm
Saturdays: 9:45pm - 4:00pm
Sundays: 11am - 3pm
Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging and effective piano instruction to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
- Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and musical goals.
- Cultivate a supportive and dynamic learning environment that promotes student confidence and motivation.
- Foster a love for music through creative teaching methods and innovative pedagogical approaches.
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, and examinations as appropriate.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and any relevant concerns.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, including maintaining accurate records of student attendance and lesson plans.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to enhance the overall learning experience for students.
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in piano pedagogy and music education.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a piano tutor, with a proven track record of successful student outcomes.
- Possession of a valid Enhanced DBS certificate
- Strong proficiency in piano performance and pedagogy, with the ability to teach students of diverse ages and skill levels.
- Fun and dynamic teaching style that engages students and fosters their enthusiasm for learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices in music education.
- Knowledge of teaching exams (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity, RSL) is desired but not essential.

Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
