Event Floor Staff – Club HQ
Overview
We're looking for enthusiastic and approachable team members to join us at the Harlequin Centre, for an exciting summer sports and social club taking over Harlequin Shopping Centre, Watford. Club HQ is a summer sports and social activation featuring a pop-up padel court alongside fitness sessions, family activities and live entertainment throughout August. As part of the team, you'll be the face of the activation – welcoming guests, managing bookings, supporting activities, and ensuring visitors enjoy a safe, fun and memorable experience throughout the summer.
This role is based in Watford. We are currently prioritising applicants who live in Watford or the surrounding area and can reliably travel to the venue.
Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Welcome visitors and provide information about the activation and daily programme.
- Assist guests with court bookings, activity sign-ups and general enquiries.
- Encourage participation and help create a fun, inclusive atmosphere.
- Promote upcoming activities and sessions throughout the day.
- Support special events, demonstrations and community activities as required.
Activation Operations
- Manage the booking kiosk and check-in process.
- Monitor court schedules and activity timetables.
- Issue and collect equipment including padel racquets, balls and fitness equipment.
- Ensure equipment is stored correctly, cleaned, and maintained throughout the day.
- Assist instructors, coaches and workshop providers during programmed sessions.
Retail & Merchandise Support
- Assist with the management and sale of branded merchandise.
- Maintain stock levels and keep retail displays organised.
Health & Safety
- Monitor the activation space to ensure safe participant behaviour.
- Report any incidents, maintenance issues or hazards to the Event Supervisor.
- Support crowd management during busy periods and special events.
- Follow all operational procedures and health & safety guidelines.
Site Presentation
- Keep the activation area clean, tidy and welcoming.
- Ensure signage, furniture and equipment remain presentable.
Requirements
- Friendly and engaging personality with a passion for people.
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, retail, leisure or customer service.
- Professional, approachable and confident when engaging with visitors of all ages.
- Interest in sport, fitness, wellbeing or community events is desirable.
- Ability to stay calm and organised in a busy environment.
- Reliable, proactive and ready to take initiative.
- Availability throughout August 2026, including weekends
- We’re looking for two staff members to alternate
