Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Complex Care Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing specialised care and support to children with complex needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow personalised care plans. Duties
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, supporting children with complex needs.
- Carry out and contribute to children's assessments, including risk assessments, needs assessments, and behavioural observations, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Assist with daily activities such as feeding, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to children, fostering a positive environment.
- Support behavioural management strategies as outlined in care plans.
- Drive children to appointments, activities, or school as required, ensuring safe transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the child's condition.
- Communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and team members regarding the child's progress and needs.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, particularly those with complex or special needs.
- Valid driving license and ability to drive safely for transportation duties.
- Knowledge of childcare practices and ability to implement care plans effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with families and professionals.
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate nature with patience and resilience when working in challenging situations.
- Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service, including occasional evening or weekend shifts if required.
