As Bar Manager, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to build the energy behind the bar from the very beginning. You’ll help shape the bar operation, develop a brilliant team and establish the drinks, service and hospitality standards we want to become known for.
Working closely with the wider management team, you’ll combine great drinks knowledge with strong organisation, commercial awareness and genuine hospitality — while remaining highly present behind the bar and with our guests.
Duties
· Lead the bar team with energy, warmth and a hands-on approach.
· Deliver an exceptional guest experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail.
· Maintain consistently high standards across drinks, presentation and service.
· Train, develop and inspire the bar team, building their confidence and product knowledge.
· Support onboarding and retention of a strong bar team.
· Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries and stock rotation.
· Monitor wastage, GP and other key bar costs.
· Ensure the bar is clean, organised, fully stocked and ready for every service.
· Maintain high standards of food safety, health & safety and licensing compliance.
· Communicate clearly with the floor, kitchen and wider management team.
· Handle guest feedback and team concerns with empathy and professionalism.
· Bring ideas, creativity and energy to the drinks offering.
· Represent the Dover Street Counter brand with pride.
Requirements
· A genuine passion for hospitality, drinks and looking after people.
· Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager or similar leadership role within a busy, high-quality-driven venue.
· Strong knowledge of drinks, bar operations and stock management.
· Warm, approachable and naturally engaging.
· Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
· Awareness and confidence managing costs and wastage.
· A natural leader who develops people through encouragement, support and example.
· Positive, calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
· Happy to be present on the floor and behind the bar — this is a hands-on role!

Cash Incentives & Benefits
· Loyalty Bonus – £300 cash bonus for every 6 months of completed service, paid in your next pay cheque (hourly paid employees only).
