We’re seeking a talented local performer to join our popular Witches & History walking tour in the magical city of York.
Availability:
You’ll need good general afternoon and evening availability. Our tours currently run daily at 3:30pm and 5:30pm, plus 7:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Guides are allocated at least one tour day per week.
About the Tour:
This is a fully scripted and rehearsed, one-person show that takes audiences through York’s atmospheric old town, sharing gripping tales of Yorkshire’s accused witches alongside fascinating snippets of York's history.
Our witch is fun, quirky and knowledgeable, whimsical, warm, and engaging - definitely not “wicked”! All eyes will be on you, so confidence and charisma are key.
Key Details:
- First audition: self-tape submission
- Second audition: online meeting (as soon as possible)
- Rehearsals: spread over 3 - 4 weeks
We’re looking for someone with:
- Excellent outdoor voice projection (radio mic provided if needed)
- Strong storytelling skills and stage presence
- Interest in history and heritage
- Ability to engage and manage audiences of all sizes
- Confidence working solo – outdoors, in all weather
- (Ideally) a Yorkshire accent – though all accents will be considered.
