Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Kitchen Porter to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our busy kitchen environment. This role is vital in supporting our culinary team to deliver high-quality food service in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen portering team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation across all kitchen areas
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained according to health and safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required, supporting chefs during busy service periods
- Manage waste disposal efficiently and ensure recycling protocols are followed
- Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishments are needed
- Uphold strict hygiene standards throughout the kitchen environment at all times
- Collaborate closely with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operation
Skills
- Ideally a experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment with a focus on kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is beneficial but not essential
