Job Title: Accountant

Location: Kuwait Embassy
Starting Salary: £3,000.00 per month
Job Summary:
The Kuwait Embassy is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join its Finance and Administration Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the Embassy’s financial operations. This role requires strong bilingual communication skills in both English and Arabic, along with solid accounting expertise and proficiency in key financial software. (Official Arabic Language: written, typing & spoken is Mandatory)
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
· Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
· Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
· Ensure compliance with internal policies and external financial regulations
· Process payroll and manage related documentation
· Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
· Monitor and control expenses in line with approved budgets
· Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
Required Qualifications & Skills:
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance
· Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken)
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
· Hands-on experience with accounting software, including QuickBooks, Sage 50, and payroll systems (e.g., Pay/Payroll software)
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage
· Experience working in a governmental, diplomatic, or international organization
· Familiarity with UK and international financial regulations
