Chandlings Prep School is seeking a Minibus Driver who is experienced, reliable and conscientious to drive one of the School minibuses in the morning and afternoon.
This is a term-time only position starting in the Autumn term 2026. The role would suit someone who is able to present themselves in a positive, professional and welcoming manner and has a full, clean driving licence.
Purpose of the Role
● Safely drive the school minibus, ensuring pupils are collected and dropped off at designated stops on time, taking account of traffic conditions.
● Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the school that are consistent with the nature of the role.
Support for Pupils and Staff
● Transport pupils to and from school each day.
●Occasionally transport pupils and staff to fixtures, trips, and events by mutual agreement. ● Plan routes in conjunction with the Head of Operations.
● Ensure all passengers wear seat belts at all times.
● Complete required training, including Safeguarding, MiDAS, Manual Handling, and First Aid.
Vehicle Responsibilities
● Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues to the Head of Operations.
● Refuel and maintain the vehicle as required.
● Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, safe, and roadworthy.
● Comply with the school’s Transport Policy and minibus regulations.
● Arrange and attend vehicle inspections, MOTs, servicing, and repairs.
● Contact breakdown services when necessary.
● Return vehicle keys to the designated secure location after use.
Pay: £15.92 per hour
