Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Cleaner to join our team during term time only. This role involves maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the school premises, ensuring that the facilities are safe, welcoming, and conducive to learning. The position is scheduled from Monday to Friday, 3pm to 7pm, based in Central Oxford. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting the school's daily operations by delivering high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Enhanced DBS required.
Duties
- Carry out cleaning tasks across various areas of the school, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal spaces.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies to ensure all surfaces are sanitised and maintained to a high standard.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly throughout the school premises.
- Restock consumables such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as required.
- Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and pupils.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning duties to the designated supervisor.
- Maintain a tidy storage area for cleaning equipment and supplies.
Skills
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and health & safety standards within an educational setting is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to organisational standards.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the school term.
Pay: £12.21 per hour
