Warehouse//van driver BHGS Hayle

Mon – Thurs: 8.15-12.30 & 1.00-5.00
Fri: 8.15-1.00 & 1.30-4.00
30 minutes for lunch & 15 minute tea break per day are unpaid.
There is a staff canteen with a microwave. Tea, coffee & milk and a kettle are provided.
Main duties: Responsible for running and maintaining the warehouse operations, allocating work to all other warehouse staff and any other staff members who may be assigned to the warehouse by Management, and carry out all the duties set out below.
Our Stock Control, Picking List & Delivery Note systems are computerised so the Supervisor will be expected to familiarise themselves and use the system. Undertake and maintain NSK qualification and carry out the relevant requirement on a daily basis.
Own transport
Accurately pick loads for our own lorries (this entails driving a forklift)Training will be given, ensuring that any goods despatched are clearly identified and fit for despatch to ensure a ‘Right First Time’ service is offered to customers.
Loading and unloading our lorries, and & recording ‘returns’ on our lorries.
Liaising with Transport Manager on any issues concerning the loads/routes.
Assisting our drivers if loads need to be re-arranged on the lorry.
BHGS Hayle handles horticultural chemicals & fertilizers. These are all in industry-standard packaging, but all staff members should be aware aware of potential hazards.
Deliveries
Receiving & unloading deliveries to our warehouse.
Verifying paperwork and recording discrepancies, shortages, damages etc.
Distributing deliveries to their allocated bays in the warehouse & yard.
Make Deliveries/pick up drivers in company Van.
The warehouse staff may be required to work on after standard hours to complete any of the above duties. As per the Companies time in lieu policy
Customers
Picking sales from the trade counter and loading into customers’ own transport.
Other duties
Co-ordinate and communicate with other departments & Management Via Written “notes” or Walkie Talkie.
Keep the warehouse and depot yard tidy.
Daily routine maintenance checks on the forklifts/Racking.
Ensure operations carried out while complying with Health & Safety requirements.
Carry out perpetual stock checks in conjunction with Depot Manager to maintain stock level accuracy.
Identify any areas of improvement to existing operations & practices.
Any other tasks allocated by Management.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
