Job Summary
We are seeking 2 dedicated and nurturing Nursery Assistants to support the daily operations of our childcare setting, close to Ham Common on Ham Street.
The successful candidates will assist with the care and development of children, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and are looking to develop their skills within a supportive team. Our setting is open Monday to Friday, from 7.30am until 6.30pm so we are needing someone who can either work 3 or 4 full days per week or can work shifts such as 8am until 6pm. We cannot offer a term time only or lunch cover contract.
Duties
- Assist with supervising children during play, meal times and nap times to ensure their safety and well-being
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming nursery environment
- Support with daily routines such as changing nappies, feeding and encouraging social interaction among children
- Observe and record children's progress, behaviour and developmental milestones
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues to promote a collaborative working environment
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with organising resources and materials needed for activities and daily routines
Qualifications
- Full and relevant qualification such as Level 3 in Childcare or Early Years Education is a must
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Compassionate, patient and attentive nature with a genuine interest in child development
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy childcare setting
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to childcare environments

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
