Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Hotel Night Porter to join our team at a Stanton Manor Hotel, Stanton St Quintin, Chippenham. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of overnight services, providing exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the safety and security of the premises. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and a strong understanding of hospitality standards.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests arriving during night hours, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
- Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person with exemplary phone etiquette and hospitality skills
- Monitor security systems and conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises to ensure safety and security
- Manage late-night check-ins and check-outs efficiently, adhering to hotel policies
- Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, or emergencies with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area during night shifts
- Assist with administrative tasks such as logging incidents or maintaining security records
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery throughout the night shift
Experience
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong guest service skills with an emphasis on hospitality standards
- Knowledge of hotel operations, security procedures, and emergency protocols is beneficial
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service best practices
