Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Telehandler Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate a telescopic handler—commonly known as a telehandler—to move, lift, and position materials across various job sites. Your expertise will ensure efficient material handling, contribute to project progress, and uphold safety standards. This position offers an energetic environment where your mechanical skills and driving experience will be put to good use in supporting large-scale construction operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers safely and efficiently to lift, move, and place construction materials at designated locations on-site.
- Conduct routine inspections of the telehandler before each shift, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring proper functioning of all controls.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks using the telehandler or other equipment such as excavators when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with site supervisors and other equipment operators to coordinate material delivery schedules and site logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of daily equipment usage, inspections, and any maintenance or repairs needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support other team members with mechanical knowledge or assistance related to equipment operation as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating a telehandler in a construction or industrial environment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Experience operating an excavator is a plus, demonstrating versatility in heavy machinery handling.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site management.
