Seven Resourcing are looking for a passionate and committed Supporting Families Key Worker to join a Short Breaks Service in Rochdale, supporting children and young people with additional needs and disabilities, alongside their families.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about helping children and young people develop independence, build confidence and enjoy positive experiences within their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.
- Support children and young people to access enjoyable and meaningful activities.
- Promote independence, confidence and personal development.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, young people and their families.
- Work in a strengths-based and relationship-focused way to identify and build on individual abilities.
- Support families to achieve positive outcomes and access appropriate services and opportunities.
- Encourage children and young people to develop meaningful relationships and participate within their communities.
- Work effectively with colleagues, families and partner professionals to ensure consistent and appropriate support.
- Maintain accurate records and follow relevant safeguarding, health and safety and service procedures.
Applicant Requirements
- Experience of working with children and young people, particularly those with additional needs or disabilities.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, young people and families.
- A patient, compassionate and supportive approach.
- Ability to promote independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
