Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Steel Fixers to join our clients dynamic team on a tempary but full time basis in scenic Market Harborough. The hourly rate will be £23.68 CIS and you will be able to work 10hrs days. The Steelfixers will be responsible for installing and securing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) to form the framework for concrete structures such as buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. Your expertise will ensure the structural integrity and safety of our projects while working in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
Duties
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately position steel reinforcement
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape rebar using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge
- Tie rebar securely with wire ties or clips to ensure proper placement according to project plans
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, roofers, and other trades to coordinate the installation process
- Lift heavy steel materials safely using appropriate techniques and equipment while adhering to safety standards
- Assist with site preparation tasks such as organizing materials and maintaining a clean work environment
- Conduct quality checks on installed reinforcement to ensure compliance with safety codes and engineering standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or similar role within the construction industry
- Blue CSCS Card
