Job Title: Delivery Driver
Location: Sushi & Salad, 5A Cross Street, Saffron Walden, Essex
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Job Purpose
As a Delivery Driver at Sushi & Salad, you will play an important role in ensuring our customers receive their orders quickly, safely, and with excellent service. You will represent the restaurant while making deliveries and help maintain our high standards of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver customer orders promptly and safely within the local area.
- Ensure all orders are checked and complete before leaving the restaurant.
- Handle food carefully to maintain quality and presentation during transport.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at every delivery.
- Process cash and card payments accurately where required.
- Follow all road traffic laws and drive responsibly at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the delivery vehicle (where applicable).
- Assist with light in-store duties during quieter periods, including packing orders, cleaning, stocking supplies, or supporting the front-of-house team.
- Report any delivery issues, customer feedback, or vehicle concerns to the manager promptly.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Full UK driving licence with a clean or acceptable driving record.
- Good knowledge of Saffron Walden and the surrounding area, or the ability to use satellite navigation effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous experience in food delivery or customer service.
- Experience handling cash and card payments.
- Food hygiene awareness.
Personal Qualities
- Friendly and approachable.

Working Hours
Hours are available on a part-time or full-time basis and may include:

- Bank holidays
Shift patterns will vary depending on business requirements.
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate of pay.
- An additional £4 is paid for each completed delivery, on top of the hourly rate.
- Drivers also receive an average of £3 per hour in customer tips (tips may vary depending on business levels and customer generosity).
