We are looking for a reliable, motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Assistant to join our growing team.
You’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the trade counter, helping customers, keeping stock organised, preparing orders and ensuring the counter and warehouse areas are clean, tidy and well presented.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working with customers, is organised, and can work confidently in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers at the trade counter, providing friendly and professional service.
- Provide customers with product information and help them select the right products for their needs.
- Process sales and assist with upselling and recommending suitable products where appropriate.
- Receive, organise and replenish stock, ensuring products are correctly stored and easy to locate.
- Keep trade counter displays attractive, clean and fully stocked.
- Assist with stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Answer customer enquiries over the phone and in person, demonstrating excellent communication and phone etiquette.
- Assist with deliveries and collection of goods when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Work closely with the manager and wider team to ensure the smooth running of the trade counter.
What We’re Looking For
Full UK Driving Licence
A clean, full UK driving licence is essential, and you must be comfortable driving delivery vans.
Experience would be ideal be not necessary
Previous experience in a warehouse, trade counter, retail, stores or storeman role is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Customer Service Skills
Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
Physically Fit
Comfortable lifting and moving products as part of the role.
Team Player
Positive attitude with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Organised & Reliable
Able to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively and keep stock and work areas organised..
