Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage various driving tasks, including curtainside, tail lift and box trailer work.
NOT pallet multidrop. We are UK wide so SOME NIGHTS OUT will be required.
Monday to Friday
Min 45 hrs per week plus overtime, Weekend work available but not essdential
Duties
- Operate a lorry in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, including securing loads as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving.
- Ability to operate various types of lorries and equipment safely.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
