A vacancy has arisen for a part-time receptionist (30 hours per week in our Respiratory Outpatients Department at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Bath.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and proactive Receptionist(s), with exceptional multi-tasking and communication skills to assist in covering a busy reception area.
We are looking for candidates who have good computer skills, a cheerful and proactive approach and multi-tasking skills due to ever-changing priorities. An approachable, professional person with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to learn would suit this post.
As a key member of the outpatient team, you will work on the front reception desk alongside a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), providing a welcoming, professional, and compassionate service to patients and visitors. Many of the patients attending the department may be undergoing investigations for a potential cancer diagnosis or living with a life-limiting condition, so empathy, sensitivity, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Your responsibilities will include managing patient information on the hospital Patient Administration System (Millennium), booking and coordinating appointments, handling telephone enquiries from patients, GPs, and other healthcare professionals, arranging patient transport, and undertaking a range of administrative duties to support the smooth running of the service.
