THE POSITION
We are seeking a full time Technician to join our Cargo Bay team based in Wendens Ambo, near Saffron Walden. The role holder will report to the Seat Bay and Cargo Bay Team Leader.
The primary job role will be the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, part replacement and re-assembly of aircraft cargo nets and a wide range of seat belts and restraints, in order to reduce costs and add value to our prestigious customers.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Inspection and diagnosis of components.
· Disassembly and cleaning of aircraft cargo nets and seat belts / restraints.
· Repair and parts replacement of cargo nets and seat belts / restraints.
· Reassembly of cargo nets and seat belts / restraints to required standards and timeframe.
· Work in accordance with technical publications.
· Adheres to all Company standard operating procedures.
· Adheres to all health and safety procedures.
· Meets workshop quality and housekeeping standards.
· Ensures all activity and works delivered meets the Company quality standards.
· Ensures all administration and systems inputs meets agreed standards.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ideally, the successful candidate will be an experienced Technician, with specific experience in trimming and upholstery within the aviation or automotive sectors. Previous experience of using manual and CNC operated sewing machines, along with strong mechanical skills are highly desirable.
An understanding of technical publications and knowledge of Commercial Aerospace working practices, along with IT literacy (Word and Excel) with a willingness to learn an industry software package (Aerotrac) would be advantageous.
The individual will be a team player, be willing to learn and will have a good eye for detail.
