Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring items are protected during transit
- Plan optimal delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery schedules
- Verify delivery orders against shipping documents and obtain signatures upon successful delivery
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with commercial driving background
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
- Experience with flatbed trucks or similar large vehicles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of driving safety protocols and traffic laws
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices or maps efficiently in various environments
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Physical ability to lift, load, and unload cargo as needed; comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
