We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Sous chef, you will play a pivotal role in supervising food production, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and fostering a positive work environment within the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and dining area.
- Handle any customer complaints or feedback regarding food quality or service promptly and professionally.
- Support the team during peak service times by assisting with cooking, plating, or bartending as required.
Experience
- Proven experience as a senior chef or in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene standards.
- Familiarity with food production processes and inventory management.
- A passion for culinary arts with the ability to inspire creativity within the team.
- Previous experience in bartending is advantageous but not essential.
