Skilled Driving Subcontractor – Immediate Work
Enviro-Spec UK Ltd is looking for a reliable, skilled self-employed subcontractor to join our small Oxfordshire construction team.
Immediate work is available across two local projects:
- Listed cottage renovation and small single-storey extension – careful strip-out, timber repairs, insulation, plasterboard, lime/wood-fibre systems, carpentry and general site support.
- Small single story extension, with ground works through complete turn over
The role
You will work alongside the team as a practical all-round construction operative, while also helping with driving, material collections and deliveries when required.
Typical duties include:
- Driving company vans/flatbed safely for site runs, collections and waste disposal.
- Loading, securing and unloading tools, materials and plant.
- General carpentry, timber framing, boarding and insulation work.
- Groundworks, concrete, paving and external timber work.
- Assisting with heritage renovation, careful demolition and site protection.
- Keeping vans, tools and work areas clean, organised and secure.
- Helping maintain a professional, safe site for clients and other trades.
- Taking responsibility for small tasks and working without needing constant instruction.
What we need
- Full UK driving licence, with confidence driving a van and ideally a flatbed.
- Self-employed / CIS registered.
- Solid general building experience; carpentry experience is strongly preferred.
- Able to work carefully in occupied and heritage properties.
- Physically fit, punctual, presentable and dependable.
- Good attitude toward tool care, housekeeping, PPE and safe working.
- Able to communicate well with the team and clients.
- Your own basic hand tools preferred; company plant and larger tools supplied.
Rates and progression
Rates will be agreed based on experience, quality of work and driving capability. Consistent, skilled workers can progress into a higher-responsibility driving and logistics role, with increased rates for genuine driving, collections and site-support duties.
