About Our Team
Acorn offers a safe and welcoming environment for those people in need of support. We deliver an array of services ranging from Residential Rehabilitation, Recovery Housing, Community Services including substance use programmes and mental health support to complex needs supported housing. The services span across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, and support people to gain the skills to sustain independence, improve their wellbeing through meaningful activity and maintain their recovery by connecting with a passionate team of lived experience individuals.
The Opportunity
This role is essential to the success of the residential rehab. The counsellor supports residents to understand their addiction, develop healthier coping skills, and progress through their recovery programme.

What We’re Looking For
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Professional qualification in Counselling, Psychotherapy, or Clinical Psychology.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Member of a professional body, BACP or equivalent.
- Experience working with addiction, substance misuse, or co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Delivering trauma-informed therapeutic work in a residential, community, or clinical setting.
