Ad Hoc Carer – Community Care

Hours: Flexible / As Required
Rate of Pay: £14.00-15.00 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for reliable and compassionate ad hoc carers to provide cover for care calls across Saltdean, Peacehaven and Rottingdean.
This is a flexible opportunity for carers who are looking to pick up additional shifts and support clients when regular care staff are unavailable. Calls may vary depending on the individual client's needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Care calls may include:
- Supporting clients with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
- Providing medication prompts in accordance with the client's care plan.
- Preparing and serving meals and drinks.
- Supporting clients with eating and drinking where required.
- Completing light cleaning and household tasks.
- Providing companionship and emotional support.
- Supporting clients to maintain their independence and dignity.
- Monitoring clients' wellbeing and reporting any concerns appropriately.
- Following individual care plans and company policies.
- Completing care records accurately following each visit.
About You
We are looking for carers who are:
- Caring, compassionate and respectful.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Confident working independently in clients' homes.
- Comfortable providing personal care.
- Able to follow care plans and instructions.
- Good communicators with a professional approach.
- Flexible and available to provide ad hoc cover when required.
- Able to travel between care calls within the local area.
Previous care experience is desirable, although applicants with a genuine passion for supporting others and the appropriate training may also be considered.

We will obtain an enhanced DBS and we will require 2 professional references from your most previous jobs. You will need to complete mandatory training and refresher training as required.
