Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Pre-Treatment Technician to join Galvanising team within DURUS. The role involves preparing steel products through the chemical pre-treatment process prior to galvanising. This includes handling materials safely through degreasing, pickling, rinsing, and fluxing stages while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.No previous galvanising experience is required as full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate safely within the pre-treatment area of the galvanising plant
- Load and unload steel products onto cranes, jigs, and handling equipment
- Inspect steel before and after treatment for contamination, oil, paint, heavy rust, or defects
- Monitor chemical tank conditions and address abnormalities as they come
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in all work areas
- Follow all company SOPs, safety procedures, and environmental controls
- Wear and maintain correct PPE at all times
- Assist with production targets and workflow efficiency
- Record production or process information where required
- Support maintenance and cleaning activities during downtime
- Work closely with galvanising, jigging, and goods in/out teams

- Ability to follow instructions and procedures carefully
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is beneficial but not essential
Desirable Experience
- Manufacturing or industrial experience
- Chemical handling experience
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
