We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child within our playgroup. Working closely with the Playgroup Leader, SENCO and wider staff team, you will help the child access learning opportunities, develop confidence and independence, and fully participate in playgroup life.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, individualised support for a child throughout each session.
- Build a trusting and positive relationship with the child to promote confidence, wellbeing and engagement.
- Support the child's learning, communication, social interaction and emotional development in line with their individual needs.
- Work alongside the Playgroup Leader, SENCO and outside professionals to implement support strategies and individual targets.
- Observe, monitor and record the child's progress, sharing information with the team and parents where appropriate.
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
- Ensure the child's safety, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.
- Assist with playgroup routines and activities as required.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, SEND and confidentiality policies and procedures.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Have experience working with young children, ideally including children with additional needs or SEND.
- Be patient, caring, calm and nurturing.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be flexible, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a sound understanding of the EYFS and inclusive practice.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Bring enthusiasm, positivity and a genuine passion for supporting every child to succeed.
