Making A Difference as a Commissioning Officer in the All -Age Integrated Commissioning Hub

We have an exciting vacancy for a highly motivated individual who wants to shape the future of prevention and technology-enabled care for the people of St Helens. This is a genuinely innovative role sitting at the intersection of commissioning, digital transformation, and the all-age population health with the scope to making a real and lasting difference to how people live independently in their communities.
As a Commissioning Officer in the All-Age Commissioning Hub, you will lead the commissioning of prevention services and technology-enabled care solutions across Adult’s, Children’s and Public Health services. You will work closely with and have the ability to build strong partnerships and relationships with the voluntary sector, NHS partners, technology providers, and social work colleagues to design and commission services that keep people independent, healthy, and connected to their communities for longer.
What we are looking for:

A genuine understanding of tech-enabled care, how assistive technology and digital tools work, what they can and cannot do, and how they interface with social care delivery

An understanding of the role the voluntary and community sector plays in prevention and a commitment to commissioning that strengthens rather than replaces community-led support

Experience of or a strong commitment to working with people who have lived experience, understanding the real lives of the people we commission for

Knowledge of population health approaches for a both children and adults including social prescribing, early intervention, and prevention models that reduce dependency on statutory services

Strong commissioning skills, from needs assessment and market development through to procurement, contract management, and co-production with service users

The ability to build effective partnerships across the NHS, housing, voluntary sector, and technology providers
You will join a talented and committed commissioning team working across adults, children, and public health with a shared commitment to commissioning that genuinely improves lives.
The successful candidate should be educated to degree level and/or have relevant experience in a commissioning, technology, or prevention role in health or social care.
