About the role
At Balfour Beatty, we're proud to deliver some of the UK's most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects. We're looking for an experienced General Foreman to join our team on our Rolls-Royce Project in Derby, helping to deliver critical infrastructure within a highly secure and technically advanced environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional to take ownership of site operations, leading teams to safely deliver quality work on time and to the highest standards. Working alongside Site Agents, Engineers and Project Managers, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of this landmark project while contributing to an environment built on collaboration, innovation and excellence.

What you'll be doing
As a General Foreman You will be:
- Leading and coordinating site teams, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors to deliver planned works safely and efficiently.
- Planning daily and weekly site activities to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Promoting and embedding Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm culture, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Supervising construction activities to ensure they meet design specifications, quality standards and client expectations.
- Coordinating labour, plant, equipment and materials to maximise productivity.
- Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections.
- Monitoring progress, identifying potential issues and implementing practical solutions to maintain programme delivery.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Previous experience as a General Foreman, Foreman or Supervisor on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing direct labour and subcontractors.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and safe systems of work.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to motivate teams and build positive working relationships.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS card.
- First Aid qualification (desirable).
