We are seeking an experienced and motivated Temporary Headteacher to provide strong leadership and operational oversight from immediate commencement until the end of the current academic term.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, or senior leader with substantial SEND experience who can provide stability, leadership, and support during this interim period.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across the school.
- Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, pupil welfare, and wellbeing.
- Lead and support staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
- Maintain compliance with Independent School Standards and relevant legislation.
- Oversee the effective implementation of EHCPs and SEND provision.
- Monitor pupil progress, attendance, behaviour, and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, Local Authorities, and external professionals.
- Support school improvement priorities and maintain a positive school culture.
- Manage day-to-day school operations and ensure effective resource management.
- Promote high expectations and positive outcomes for all pupils.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Significant leadership experience within a school environment.
- Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and statutory guidance.
- Knowledge of Independent School Standards and educational compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Desirable
- Previous Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher experience.
- Experience within an independent school setting.
- Experience managing inspections and regulatory compliance.
